Did you know our students can complete an internship through Wilson County Schools?  Students must be a junior or senior and have taken or currently taking 2 CTE courses. Depending on the student’s schedule, he or she could do an internship during 4th block and receive course credit.  Here are some of the places available to our students:

 ·        Childcare center

 ·        Hotel

 ·        Working with handicapped adults

 ·        Newspaper

 ·        Wilson County Schools (Teacher Intern)

 ·        Speech Therapy

 ·        Chiropractic Office

An internship is a work-based learning experience where a student participates in the daily operations of a work site under the direct supervision of a mentor.  The internship provides a realistic environment in which a student intern learns about a particular industry or occupation and applies knowledge and skills learned in the classroom.  The work experience should contribute to the student’s career pathway helping the student to narrow his or her career choice.
